Muhammad Ali, 29, was killed during a late night robbery of a convenience store in September 2011. Two black male suspects wearing masked barged into the Back Bay Market on Ortiz Avenue in Fort Myers with a large weapon. The suspects pointed a gun at Muhammad, broke open the coin machine and stole the money. When deputies arrived, the victim was deceased inside.

Murder case solved after 30 years

Roland “Rollie” Thomas Davis, 68, has been linked to Sharon Gill's murder after detectives say DNA evidence connected him to the crime. 

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, Davis is currently on death row in Ohio for the 2000 murder of an 86-year-old retired nurse by stabbing her to death in her home in Newark, Ohio.

On March 21, 1990, Charlotte County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the residence of Sharon Marie Gill on Rampart Blvd in the Deep Creek section of Punta Gorda after a family member came home and discovered that she was dead inside her house.

Investigation revealed Sharon had been stabbed multiple times. There were no signs of forced entry into her residence.

On August 1, 2012, the Collier County Sheriff's Office responded to Key Royal Circle and found 48 year old victim Joseph Warren Godcharles III dead in the master bedroom. He had been stabbed. Evidence suggests robbery was not a motive and the perpetrator was likely known to the victim. His death was ruled a homicide. The investigation continues.

It’s been 10 years since 29-year-old Takilia Shavonda Smith’s body was found and her death was determined to be a homicide. We are asking for anyone with information about her death to come forward, even after 10 years…..

On Sunday, July 26, 2009, at approximately 3:13 a.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Martin Avenue South and 27th Street Southwest in Lehigh Acres where they located the victim inside her vehicle who had been shot. The victim was identified as Takilia Shavonda Smith. Takilia was transported to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her death was determined to be a homicide.

Latasha Faison, 28, a mother of four, was gun down at the Jones Walker Palm Garden Apartments on Blount Street in Fort Myers on July 22, 2013, and her killer is still at large.

Latasha left her children with her mother and went to meet up with some friends at the apartment complex. About 45 minutes later the family received a call that Faison had been shot. There were several witnesses outside the complex that night, reluctant to share what they know about the incident. We are confident that the answers to this murder still lie within the community. Anyone who was at Jones Walker that night needs to do the right thing for Latasha and her kids and come forward with any information you may have. This homicide can be solved!

The Faison family is still looking for answers in Latasha's 2013 homicide. We hope someone with information about the shooting will pick up the phone and call Crime Stoppers or submit a tip by downloading the P3 Tips mobile app.

On July 13, 2008, Alex Teehee was struck while walking on the edge of Sibley Bay Street around 11:00 p.m. in Charlotte Harbor.  The driver sped off leaving the 20-year-old, and a father of two little boys, to die along the roadside.  He was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, but died the next day. His death was ruled a vehicular homicide.

On July 12, 2006, witnesses saw 30-year-old Vernon Smith and two unknown adult black males parked in the driveway of a vacant house on New York Avenue in Fort Myers. The subjects got out of the car and during an argument, the two male subjects chased Smith behind the house and fatally shot him. The two male subjects fled the area on foot.
